NovoMoto was founded in 2015 by Mehrdad Arjmand and Aaron Olson, two graduate students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. NovoMoto started its first pilot project in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2017. After receiving feedback from the initial customers, NovoMoto was able to identify a product-market fit in 2019. From 2020, NovoMoto has been growing in the western part of DRC and now is looking to expand the operations across the DRC and potentially other markets in sub-Saharan Africa.
